SBS – Saved, Baptised, Serving

At North Gate Christian Church, we celebrate with the whole of heaven when an individual chooses to make Jesus Christ the Lord and Saviour of their life. However we also recognise that this is just the beginning of a journey, and that New Christians need to be nurtured in their faith and have their questions about God and the Christian life answered.

SBS is our New Christians Department and it exists to see people Saved, Baptised and Serving God in His Church. Being a part of SBS involves making time for personal studies and prayer, then having question-answer sessions about the studies in both one-on-one and group settings. Our pastoral care team members who lead these groups provide a safe and confidential environment, to ensure that each person is comfortable to share, learn and grow.

SBS…
- Uses Jesus’ method of questions and answers to teach and disciple people
- Lays a solid foundation by building spiritual disciplines for life
- Offers information about and the opportunity to become baptised
- Develops an awareness of the spiritual gifts that individuals can use to serve God and His people
- Builds mentoring relationships and new friendships
